Swedish Massage:

Endulge in pure relaxation!

A Swedish massage provides relaxation for the entire body. This is done by rubbing muscles with long, gliding strokes. These movements warm up muscles and release tension.

Deep Tissue Massage

A Deep tissue massage puts its focus on the deepest layers of the muscle. Deeper pressure is used to realign muscles and connective tissue. The gliding movements are slower, and the pressure is deeper. The massage concentrates on specific areas of tension and pain. This will help to relieve pain and restore normal movement.

pregnancy Massage

Many pregnant women suffer from lower back pain and swollen ankles. A pregnancy massage is a safe, drug-free way to provide relief. Massage therapists trained in pregnancy massage understand how to position the body with a  special support during the massage and modify techniques to make the experience safe and enjoyable.

Myofascial Release

A Myofascial massage applies prolonged pressure to tight muscles. Pressure is placed on the skin for 5-7 minutes which helps to lengthen the fascia (connective tissues). When the tissue releases, the pressure is removed helping with pressure and pain. This type of massage facilitates healing by releasing contracted areas of muscle and tissue. It can help increase blood flow to the soft tissues and may help to reduce inflammation.

Abdominal/Colonic Massage

A colonic massage is a deep tissue abdominal massage. Benefits of a colonic massage include improved blood circulation, improved digestion, and decreased constipation.  Abdominal massage helps to improve tone in the digestive tract, relaxing tension of the muscles surrounding the colon, promoting healthier digestion.  When combined with myofascial release techniques, this massage becomes a comprehensive way to address many conditions, including menstrual pain, abdominal pain, bloating, slow metabolism, and other abdominal conditions.

Precautions/Contraindications:

Tell your therapist if you suffer from any of the following:  Cancer, heart disorders, diabetes, epilepsy, DVT, or are at risk of or have had an embolism.  Let your therapist know if you are having an acute or “flare-up” of diverticulitis, or if you have skin disorders such as phlebitis, ulceration or open wounds in the area to be treated, or are pregnant.  You may not have an abdominal massage until three months after abdominal surgery.

Add Ons:

Hot Stones - Warm stones are used throughout treatment to either prepare an area for massage or to be used as part of the massage technique.

Cupping - The cupping procedure gets fluid and energy moving through the body by suctioning small, circular areas of tissue. The treatment can be done on many areas of the body, as well as over specific acupuncture points of meridians.
